Entryway Design Tips to Consider for your Foyer at Home!
An entryway should be a space of zen for you, for your family. Keeping it clutter free and organised will definitely help brighten your mood and set the vibe of a relaxed home.

I’m going to be sharing 6 essentials to factor in while designing your entryway for your home-
The Console Design - Ask yourself this question- How much storage do I need? This will help you decide the console you want.
For instance, when it comes to our apartment I knew I wanted a console with two drawers, to store away keys, incoming mail, etc., I like things to be stored away. But if you like organised clutter you could chose to go for a sleeker design, this comes down to personal preference.
I wanted a shelf at the bottom to help me place any grounding pieces I would like to. Use baskets or bins below to ground, they additionally also function as storage.
You could also consider chests and cabinetry with more drawers for extra storage. I didn’t want a console to house more storage because I knew my shoes were getting stored in an assigned space inside our home. But for spaces that maybe tight you could consider building a unit to store shoes along with a bench seating as we did for our teak inspired apartment.
Deciding your console design comes down to function and practicality, yet keep it stylish too!
2. Mirror or Art or both-
If you have enough space you could do a console with art and a full length on the opposite wall- love this look!
Or you could do a gallery wall of art and mirrors. Or just art, thank you!
3. Lighting - Table lamps, ceiling lamps, wall lamps- you decide! Play with symmetry or asymmetry- both work great!
4. Seating- think comfy, and plush!
A long day at work? Just got home and want to kick those shoes off! You need a comfortable place to sit and remove your shoes after a long day. So be it a bench, ottomon, or a chair make some place to accommodate either at your entryway.
If your entryway is very narrow maybe forego the console and prefer a seating!
5. Make a Statement- decide whether you would want to add patterned floors, wallpaper, textured walls, bold mirrors, rugs, coloured doors, vintage consoles… but think different! When someone enters your home there should be that one piece that turns out to be conversation starter, in our case its our hand-painted sunburst mirror from Peru!
Now if you do not have a designated foyer space in your home, you can create one! Build a sleek partition or use furniture, mirrors on a wall to make a distinction. The way you achieve this look can also be considered a statement for smart design to get people interested in the way you think.
6. Plants galore!
Always! If you don’t have an entryway that’s bright enough like ours, create foliage in a vase. It could be with dried flowers, leaves or fresh flowers. When you have guests over move a plant indoors.
