Pee-Wee Garden For Your Dog!
Living in a high-rise apartment you lack the amount of garden space ideally required for your dog & sometimes for you as well. When my husband and I moved into our apartment, and then decided on getting a dog— the only concern we had was how can we potty train our dog?!
Ofcourse, two walks a day is sufficient for your dog but what about the other times they need to go pee-pee. I know of a few people who live in apartments who have trained their dogs to urinate in one bathroom. The habit comes with a strong stench and stains in the bathroom floor which are damn hard to get rid off!!!
Pee-Lawn
Finding a solution for this problem: I came up with this idea to build a small pee-lawn. Maple is a small dog, so this was ideal for a dog her size or smaller (she’s around 12 kgs). We found a stone mason who custom-made the size of stone we wanted, make sure to provide a gradual slope down to one side & equipped with a drain so excess water drips out.
Next step would be to find a person who deals with lawns around your home. All we did was search for lawn growers in Google and approached the closest lawn grower near our house. Establish a relationship with them, because you will ideally need to change the lawn once in two months.
You need to put in a bit of effort into building this tiny lawn, but trust me once your dog is trained you will thank yourself!
I hope this post helps you guys in setting up a pee-wee garden in your home too. If you do, I would to love to know about your experience with your happy pooch.
Lots of Love,
Nain xx
Size of the stone: 2 ft X 4 ft (sufficient for a dog below 15 kgs) you could go larger by a few feet for bigger dogs
